D&A, along with RARARA Architects, was tasked by Lafayette to conceptualize the conversion of three brownstone buildings into horizontal condominiums. The team’s in depth analysis of the existing configuration–which had been reworked after years of use as smaller rental apartments–and an understanding of its structural system provided the client with conceptual layouts for the redevelopment. D&A also performed envelope studies to assess where to locate additional unused floor area that would best compliment the historic buildings while achieving the most optimal unit mix. With a deep knowledge of the local market, and a successful history of delivering for-sale housing, the team provided a comprehensive asset strategy to ensure the greatest degree of value creation.
